With eSAVE, customers are given great flexibility and the opportunity to save energy at a low installation cost.

Energy efficiency with eSAVE™

There are many possibilities and each store solution has its own unique needs and energy saving potential. Below we have gathered some powerful ways to save energy in a retail environment with eSAVE.

  • The right amount of light in the right place (Zoning)
  • Ability to regulate all light
  • Light by customer flow
  • Light by seasons
  • Compensate for temporary increases in energy costs

The right amount of light in the right place

  • Build controllable zones in your store
  • Create one or more zones that wirelessly communicate with each other
  • Up to 192 luminaires in one zone

Control all the light at the touch of a button!

  • One push of a button – control everything according to pre-programmed scenarios
  • For new installations – Reduce installation costs
  • Minimize installation cost in the power plant for new installation

Light by customer flow

  • Timer control – You know your shop flow – Determine the light levels yourself
  • Manual control
  • Presence sensor – No customers = low light level
  • Presence sensor – High customer flow = high light level

Light by seasons

Your ability to perceive whether a store is light or dark depends on many different factors. One such factor is the light level you were in before entering the store environment, as the eye is amazing and adapts to the surrounding light.

As a store owner, you could take advantage of this phenomenon by adapting the light in the store to the levels outside.

Contrary to what we might think, there would be an opportunity to lower the light levels in your store during the darker period of winter. This is because our eyes have usually adapted to the darker light level outdoors before the customer visits your store.

By lowering the light levels during the winter time, we can also reduce our operating costs when energy is most expensive.

  • Using the eye’s ability to adapt between light and darkness
  • Winter time = dark outside = lower the light level
  • Summertime = bright outside = increase light level

Temporary energy compensation

What do you do if energy prices spike? Imagine if you had the opportunity to reduce your light level and energy consumption during certain extreme periods. Instead of perhaps turning off 1/3 of the entire store, you could make a decision to immediately reduce consumption by 30%.

  • Smooth out extreme cost increases
  • You are in control
  • Time the lower light level

So how much energy can you really save? All shops can easily take control of their electricity bill and save energy.

Sample calculation for a 2270 m2 grocery store with 1000 lux of ambient light. See how the energy price is affected when we reduce the light by  10-40%.

Calculation example above is based on a newly installed grocery store 2 270 m2 with latest LED lighting technology with an installed base light of 1000 lux.

The luminaire chosen is ecoLENS 47 W – 7000 lumens. The consumption for such a store lands around 7 W/m2 with a total consumption of 60,000 kWh in one year.
In the calculation example, we have set the kWh cost to 2.5 kr/kWh.
